ABOUT

Byron is a singer-songwriter- and live-performance artist, based in Zürich, Switzerland. Originally from the mother city Cape Town, South Africa; Byron could only be described as a fresh mixture of indie-folk, a dash of acoustic rock, finished-off with a blend of powerful vocal ballads, and a hint of improvisational finesse. This is the varied, musical entourage you come to find from a musician who has been musically active and performing since playing his first solo-acoustic gig, shortly after his fifteenth birthday.

Weddings, birthday parties, home concerts, festivals, in bands, alone, on a big stage, in a backpackers- Byron has been drawn to performing music in one way or another, since his birth in 1992 in the central South African city, Bloemfontein.

Byron relocated to Switzerland early 2018 and is currently living in Zürich. He has been performing for many different audiences across the beautiful, alpine country, ever since.

He performs as a solo artist under his first name Byron Spillman, but is also the lead-singer and frontman for widely popular Swiss-band, Karavann. He joined the band in 2019, and has since performed with them at several esteemed music festivals such as Zauberwald Lenzerheide, Secret Garden Festival, Sounds of Garden, even head-lining the Kantonalturnfest in Wettingen in 2022. Karavann has since released two singles, featuring Byron’s encompassing vocals, firstly ‘2083′; then ‘Bring Back the Feeling‘, which the band also released a music video for in 2021. Both singles enjoyed thousands of streams on various online platforms, as well as being play-listed on several, top Swiss radio stations such as SRF3 and Radio Zürisee.
